Okay so I have a bunch of drift wood I got from the beach I wanna put it in my freshwater tank I'm wondering what's the best way to clean the wood to get it ready to go in my tank I really don't want it to hurt any thing

boil it..afterwards, let it sit in a bucket with water from the aquarium for a bit.

Boil it for a few hours to kill any hitchhikers and soak it in a bucket of water until most of the tannins are leached out. Tannins are actually fine for tanks, but it will stain the water for a while, which a lot of people don't like. If you choose to soak it in the bucket, change the water every day so that you can "measure" the amount of tannins released every day. Hope this helps. :)
