filter problem

I have an aqua tech dual carbon filter. The parts that are supposed to spin no longer do. The water still passes through, though. I tried cleaning the parts where they lay inside in hopes that would help, but no luck. Is it imperative that those things spin if the water is still being filtered in and out?

Do you have sand or rocks in the tank

no sand, and only large rocks, no gravel type stuff.

Contact the manufacturer about this and as if this is a common problem. It's possibly just a mechanical default. No machine is really ''perfect'' and some can break suddenly. You should have a 1-3 year warranty.
