Flag fish

Hi
I just happened upon some flag fish (us native) on aquabid and they look awesome. In the process of getting a third (or if I have my way, third and fourth) tank.
Does anyone have experience with keeping them? I'd love to know more about them. Thanks!

Gorgeous little fish, but not the best community members. I tried them a few times and every time I did they went straight for the fins of their tankmates. I tried a single male, a male with a harem of females, and just a harem of females, no luck on any combination. All of them liked the taste of fins even when well fed.

I only have experience with one, so listen to Luananeko over me. That said, I had a single male in a community tank and he was just fine. Grannted, this was a pretty active tank with dwarf rainbowfish, danios, and dwarf loaches- not fish that are prone to fin nipping.
