Beautiful fish and tank. I am so glad to see someone who gives comets the space they need.

Is one of them a ryukin, or are they all comets?

And is that some art glass I spy, as a nod to the carnival fish?

Thanks. I upgraded to the 120 from a 55 in january. They are all comets although from what I've read a multi-colored can also be call that. Not sure though.

Yeah they are great fish. They come up to me, follow me, eat out of my hands etc.

Well wasn't my intent but might have to start saying that. I wanted colored glass for the plants so the roots would have a darker area.

It worked out that colors of background and glass matched perfectly.

At first glance, I thought carnival glass, but I looked closer, and thought again.

I don't think you'd want to use real carnival glass (it dates from the 1930s) because I think they used lead in the firing.

But the art glass is drop dead gorgeous and so are your fish.

Very cool tank.

Thanks sharpchick. I got the glass vases from

A Homegoods store. Can't beat that price. I liked how it had the cut ours so I envisioned the plants growing through.

Yeah my fish have really grown on me. Considering everyone handed me the four bags at the carnival and I had no clue about fish. I'm pleased to say I still have the same four after a year and half. No deaths or illness.
