it might be possible. if you have a big enough tank they might work. it depends on the betta though.
 
+1 it all depends on the tempermant of the fish, no matter what kinds you have. It is really up to whether you want to risk it or not. IMO you could try it as long as you have a back up plan/tank in case they don't get along.
 
I have been keeping fancy guppies and regular betta slendens in the same tanks for many years, with little or no problems. However, I have found bettas from private breeders tend to be a lot more aggressive and teritorial. Also, in my experience, all bettas with eat larger, older fry that most adult guppies don't see as food anymore.
