Marsilia minuta in gravel

Hmm, I don't think it would work very well, as the plants can't move very well through the gravel.

I used to have all my tanks in gravel, and made a sand box, on a third of the tank, by using a sheet protector.

First move the gravel to the side, so you have a bare bottom side. Then place the sheet protecter so that it is lying on the glass, like this" ___/" that way the sand is kept on the left, and gravel on the right. Make sure to cut it to size before!

Some sand may leak through on the sides, but that's ok.

I used play sand from a hardware store(cheap and nice color) make sure to WASH the sand before adding it as its dusty! You could also buy sand at a pet shop since it's a small amount.
