Hey All, I just bought a 75 gallon tank that has 7 med to large size fish in it. I am moving the tank tomorrow night and am looking for any advice, information tips or tricks to make this go as smoothly as possible. I want to stress the fish out as little as possible and want to be able to get it back up and running as quickly as possible. How much of the original water should I try and move? Whats the best way to move the fish? How long can they be out of the tank? What things should I be looking for as far as problems with the fish when they are being moved? Any suggestions or recommendations would be a big help.

You could put those guys in two buckets of tank water. If your drive is not too far they will be perfectly fine. Totally drain the tank. There is no need to save any of the water. Take out all decor and filters. Move the tank. Redecorate add some dechlorinated water. Add the fish. You can add some prime to their buckets while you do all of this.

Acclimate the fish to the tank and you are ready to go

Forgot to add while moving them a lid will probably help. A five gallon bucket with one would be a good choice. I'd keep it on only while in the car. As long as the fish aren't gasping for air they will be fine
