It looks like a dracena . can't remember how to spell it . If that is what it is then it is a land tropical house plant. It will root in water with the leaves out of the water but will rot if kept under water. Where did you buy it? Alison
Yeah it is Dracaena . It will last a while under water and sometimes even produces roots, but as stated already, it will rot eventually. It has been sold as an aquarium plant for many years, I sell quite a lot of it, so it is down to supply and demand
