Hi everyone, I currently am cycling a 19lt nano aquarium and I have a large piece of spider wood and already know what foreground plants I will be using. However I’m not to sure on the background plants. Can anyone help? I’m looking for something that is easy to grow, bushy but doesn’t take over the tank.
Thanks.

I have used the following as background plants in small tanks <5 gallons.

Java ferns (many variants to choose from)
alternanthera reineckii "mini" (should do "ok" in a lower tech tank)
ammania sp bonsai (might not do well in a lower tech tank though)
Various rotalas (can take over though)
Dwarf sag (can take over)
helianthus (could take over)
ludwigia repens
medium sized crypts and smaller swords
