New fish ?

My guppies are now staying at the top of the tank ever since I have introduced some gouramies and clown loaches
Any reason why would they be scared of them??

Gouramis are fin nippers. Just have to be careful. They don't want to be lunch

How long ago were the new fish added? It can take a few days for everyone to settle back in after a change. And as bkiggy stated, they're probably protecting themselves.
