Last night i found this very odd looking bug on the substrate in my aquarium, it is planted, has not had any knew plants added in the past 3 months, newest fish is about 3 weeks, and there is an all-glass lid on the aquarium at all times, any ideas where this could come from. Or has anyone else found something like this in theres, i can not take a picture of it because of a lack of a digital camera

3 months is not too long for it to have been there the whole time, perhaps in another form (larvae). Or it could have passed through one of your fishes' digestive tract as an egg, and now hatched out as an insect.

As to what it is, try your best to describe it, or Google up a picture. We'll try to ID it for you.

Think i found it

Was told to look up the old dragon fly nymph, found this picture, it is dead on for the bug i have

btw, it kills small fish, it will be going on the huge pile of snow outside my ohouse right now.

Kill it? I would have set up a small tank for it (or fed it to my shrimp).
