Of many topics on Otos that come up periodically, people[including me] have one question in common. "what species of otos is this?...." or "I've purchased a dozen Otos and some are different than the others?...".

I've decided to start a thread on this board, to help identify a particular species of Oto. If anyone has come across a different variety, please contribute with pics for illustration. to help other members.

True, but images best help distinguish between different varieties alongwith explanation. There are a handful of sites which do it that way.
