Pellets for betta

Hi everybody,
Ok so I heard that you are supposed to soak pellets before feeding them to the Betta. That's all fine and dandy, I just don't know how long to soak them.
If you can help me I will be tremendously grateful. As will my fish Allie/Alejandro.

soak until the pellets sinks ... usually just a few minutes.
