Pool Filter Sand pros and cons ?

will using pool filter sand cause the ph in my tank to go up ?

I used quartz PFS and it had no effect on the ph.

My favorite sand is National Geographic which is Estes Stony River sand. It is not too small and not too large. It can be vacuumed without sucking it all out.

Does anyone know of any types of wood that might make the ph of your tank go up

Everything I have read about wood says it drops ph.

Yeah I got some “ assorted “ driftwood and everything I’ve heard about driftwood says it drops it but I took the rock I had in there out but after a small water change there was still no drop gonna do a big water change and see if it makes any difference
