Reasonable price for 7 inch oscar?

How much do you think i should sell my 7 inch oscar for? there is nothing wrong with him i just wanna do a big planted tank and cant with him in there.

You'll be lucky to give him away to a proper home, there is no shortage of huge oscars our there, have you seen craigslist?

Agreed, oscars really arent worth much. People often buy them for tiny tanks like a 20g without knowing anything about them. A few months later and the Oscars are soo big they've eaten all the other tank mates and can't even turn around properly.

Unless it's a rare color type they are commonly given away. You could probably try $10 or so for him.

I would trade him to your LFS for store credit if you can. Mine gives half of the retail price as credit on returned fish.

There was a 9 or 10 inch one at my local pet store that they were asking $20 for. About a week or two later the price had dropped to $12.99.
