Seeded Media Question

How long should I and my old filter media to I different filter to help with the cycle? My new (3 week) tank is doing a fish in cycle and I'm planning to add the old media to that tank

Add seeded media from an older tank to the new tank at anytime to help jump start the cycle.

For how long? 1 hour? 1 day?

Remove some seeded media from your established tank and add it to the new tanks filter. You want to leave it in there for at least 4 weeks. Be sure to only remove some for the seeded media from your established tank but not all of it.
