Ammonia tonight was 8 ppm pm. Never had a mini cycle that bad...

Whatever is happening, no losses yet. So that's good!

Yeah, less than a year old. Did a massive wc to bring it down to 1. This morning it's 4.

Still no fish lost.

Tonight we're getting the other 55 gallon gift. If things haven't gotten any better by tomorrow then we'll move some fish for a fish-in cycle. Spread out the bioload.

Picked up a used 55 with hood/lights, filter, heater, air pump, powerhead, etc. $75! All we need is a stand and some filters and we'll be ready for the Oscar and the 55 community

Nope! This is for the community. All the Oscar needs is a thin layer of sand. We're running the heater and when it's properly adjusted we'll move the platys over from the 29. Good news is after a 90% change last nigh, ammonia is just 1ppm this morning.

Turns out the air pump that came with the tank is an old tetra luft pump. Pretty powerful, perfect for running a big songe filter on the new 55!
