I have a freshwater snail of an unknown breed, recently he's been flipping upside down a lot, and though I keep flipping him back right side up, I'll check again in a couple of minutes and he is upside down again! I'm sure he is alive. Why is it doing this? Can it flip itself back over? Thanks!

Welcome Aboard!

Yep, I have a zebra nerite that does the same thing and my other snails are just fine so I know it isn't a water quality issue. I do what you're doing and just flip him back over lol. If you smell it and it smells rancid, it's dead so toss it, if not just keep flipping is all I can recommend.

He will flip on his own. I've had mine burry them self in my gravel. Just a suggestion add some cuttlebone to supplement their diet and for their shell.
