I was thinking of getting a new 10g tank and have a few questions. Would 3 Platys do fine, or overcrowd it? Would a betta harass them? And finally would the betta eat the young? Thanks in advance!

The three platys should be fine in a ten gallon but the betta may attack them. Some get along alright with others, others do not and platys are really colorful so that wouldn't help the matter. Either way, I believe the betta would still eat the fry.

Add the betta in last so it doesn't claim the tank, and yes it will eat the fry. In fact, most healthy fish will XD

I also have a 10gal with platties. There WILL be fry. Tons of them. Non stop. And if your like me and have it heavily planted some might survive. If you don't want to end up having to find them a home down the road I would suggest getting all females.
