Super fast cycle

I was considering starting a 10 gallon aquarium to accompany my 20 gallon, and I was wondering that if I wanted to cycle the tank faster could I take a filter cartridge already in use on my 20 and use it to cycle my 10 faster. And if I did pwc on my 20 and put a few gallons of the removed water into the ten gallon would this speed things up? (for all those who lack patience)

Yes. More the filter than the water as the bacteria is attached to the surface more than in the water.

if your going to use the same gravel that would also be a big + to put some of that in there
