Hi I have a question about betta fish and territoriality. Two weeks ago, I had to remove me betta fish from his community tank after adding some Amano shrimps- he was acting aggressively towards them and trying to attack them. He has been in an isolated bowl since them. Since then, I have done my research and figured out that he

...was defending his turf from the "interlopers".

I have two questions-
Is it possible to return him to his tank and have him coexist with the new additions? And if so,

How long should I keep him in a separate bowl before returning him?

I wouldnt, if he already attacked them he'll do it again. But u can try rearranging decor then placing him back in so there will be no territories

You may be fighting a loosing battle, even with rearranging decor. If your betta acts aggressive towards the shrimp the first time, it's probably not going to change it's mind.

Ok it sounds like he's never going to play nice with shrimp, so I will have to get him a nicer bowl to love in. Thanks for the advice!
