Can I add warm water to the tank for a water change?

Can it come from a kettle, hot tap or must it be cold?

Thanks
Paul

foma2000 is right, increasing or decreasing the temp rapidly can cause excessive stress to the fish, and can contribute to outbreaks of ich and other diseases. Try to match the temp, 2 or 3 Farenheit either way will make little difference if the water change is only 25%. if in doubt, use a thermometer.

I match the temp of the tap water to the temp of my tank by feel.
During refilling, I keep monitoring the temp and sometimes have to adjust the hot/cold taps to maintain the correct temp.

Also, I let water (hot and cold) run for a few minutes before refilling the tank. Sometimes, my water initially comes out with a brownish tinge (probably dissolved iron from my building's old pipes). In any case, my dechlor contains chelating agents that will remove dissolved metals.
