Got some freshwater mussels out of my mates creek. So I think they are aussie natives. Do they really just filter feed? Should I add anything to the water for them.

I just put some sand in I had in another tank once for them. It has stirred up so much I can't even see my fish.

Also I heard they need fish to breed. Anyone had success breeding them?

If I'm not mistaken freshwater mussels are big eaters and make a lot of waste. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge will jump in on this. I know that I've put zebra mussels in my tank before and they spread like wild fire.
