Hi and welcome!

They are likely mating. They do not fight with each other. They will possibly lay a clutch of eggs. If you keep the water level down about 3-4 inches.

Mine just had babies hatch a few days back.

thank you! also, how long does it takes for the snail to lay the eggs? and after they are laid, when do they hatch?

You never really know when the snail wants to lay eggs. They can mate frequently. They need certain temperatures, and moisture and the eggs develop based on that. The snail eggs will drown if covered with water in the tank. They breath air. When they hatch they are ready to breathe in the water with their gill. They go down into the water.

I have had the snails hatch in around 14 days but these last ones took forever and they were around a month or more.
