50g reptile tank

I just bought a 50g tank but it's for reptiles, if I replace/improve the sealant would it be alright to use?

It's going to be a macroalgae display tank with only a few fish and a sand bed of max 4in.

Generally the reptile tanks are built of lighter nontempered glass, with minimal support, as they are not supposed to be filled with water. Personally I wouldn't use it as an aquarium.
