Corals opening

I I just wanted to ask how do you know if a coral such has a torch or hammer coral is fully open.

My hammer was really bushy and flowed in the current when it was open.

Did your hammer only fully open when the tank lights are on. cause my torch is open all the time and I don't no if this is normal cause there in the same family

It opened when the lights came open, but closed when they went off.
