Is an emerald crab a goody to have in tank no fish or corals in tank yet just snail and cleaner shrimps

Many have varying opinions on emerald crabs and them being reef safe. I have one in my reef and it is fine, though it has lots of algae to feed on. In terms of it being safe in the tank with nothing there, as long as it has food to eat it should be fine.

Mine ate some zoas so i got rid of it.
