Help with a ricordea frag

I recently got a small frag of ricordea that came on a small piece of rock. I placed it in a spot I thought would be good and left it. Well it blew off of the rock and floated around the tank. I kept trying to put it on live rock but in a few minutes the little guy would get blown off. I placed it one more time before bed yest and hoped I had found a spot that would work. Wrong, when I got up this morning it was on the sand bed. It was right side up and it's been there all day and hasn't moved. Is it ok to leave it on the sand bed? Will this affect its growth or health? Thanks
