question about hermit crabs

do hermit crabs lay eggs?? I have one that seems to have eggs in the shell( not sure) but looks like an egg sac. It keeps popping out and it closes the shell closer to it body. I also have three that are fighting i thought could they be trying to mate.

I honestly don't know, but I would suspect that they do.

This is certainly the likelyhood IMO, although I wouldn't count on baby hermits, the fish and other critters will make short work of the offspring.
