Question about Sump and refugium and lighting

Right now I have my 180 gallon cycling with LR and hang on protein skiimmer.

I am thinking of adding a sump with built in protein skimmer to my setup. Is it worth buying a sump with a refugium? What benefits will I have with a refugium and what other hardware will i be required to buy. I need to avoit at all cost having a flood if the power ever shuts goes down.

Product list would be appreciated.

I am also thinking of building a T5 w/ halid fixture into my hood. What do I need to buy. I will probably purchase all the stuff online.
