sea shells- good or bad ?

I just returned from the beach today- brought back a bunch of shells, can these be put in my tank or is that a bad idea? If so, what sort of cleanining should be done? (none of them had critters still living inside...I threw back the ones being inhabited!)

Well, I would be concerned about contamination but I admit, I'm very paranoid. I would guess with a good boil and set out to sun dry, they may be ok.

I would say also that if you boiled them in hot water they should be OK once they dry.
