I am noticing a little slime algae on my gravel and some Lr. I thought the protein skimmer would take care of this. I did have a problem with this before the skimmer was installed. What is my next step? On my protein skimmer I have no foam and the bubbles are turned all the way up.

Cyano is fueled by excessive nutrients in the water. The skimmer will remove the DOCs from fish waste not the cyano fueling nitrAtes and or phosphates (typically from overfeeding, too much light or infrequent PWCs).
