How big should a sump for a 100gl tank be?

as big as you can? I know they need to be at least big enough to hold the skimmer and what not, if you have one. i'd say try to go at least 30 gallons, but i might be completely wrong. But people use all different size sumps

Have you taken measurements under your stand? If its anything like mine you can easily fit a 30-55g sump.

Generally you want to have a sump at least 20% of the main tank. Easy math for a 100Gal tank....20+gal for a sump.
