Water stains

I have a used 10gal tank that has water stains. I want to know how to remove those water stains and make the glass clear again. What is a safe way to do this so that fish don't die?

Go buy a new 10 gallon glass for $15. Not worth the effort.

A razor blade and some vinegar will clear it up.
