What would be the best way to setup a 12 gallon tank.
I want lots of variety and shrimps, snails, plants.
How can i do this so that it works?

Well what kind of lights does the tank come with? I am not familiar with the Fluval's lights.
You have options about if you would like to buy online and get a better variety or stick to LFS (local fish store). How are your fish stores? Are there very many and will they do special orders?

Something else you need to decide is substrate. I recommend black sand or black eco-complete because you want plants. Black substrate really makes the colors of the plants and fish stand out.

I'm no LED expert. I think you can have low to medium light plants. Some nice ones that I really like are anubias, crypts and wendelov ferns. Banana plants are also cute. I have rocks in some of my tanks from all over, you just have to make sure they don't bubble when you put vinegar on them or you will alter the ph of your tank.

Things to avoid unless you want to alter the ph are shells and coral.

You can find interesting driftwood by waterways or order it from the net.
