So I am I getting a used saltwater 55 g tank soon. I want to do saltwater myself, but until I can afford it, I want to try brakish. I would like to do a semi-terrarium fiddler/hermit crab setup, but I'd like to know these things:
1. Can I put both hermit and fiddler together, or one or the other?
2. What percentage should be land, and what should be water?
3. How deep should said water be?
4. How should I filter it? UG, canister, unit?
5. With whichever filtering, how will I make it with minimum splash if it hangs on the side?
6. How many species?
7. Can I also put in a figure eight puffer with them?
8. Any other things you think I should know. All advise is appreciated!

No experience with fiddlers or puffers though I believe both of these species require brackish conditions. In respect to hermit crabs, do you mean land hermits (not sw hermits)? Land hermits are fw and really should not be kept anywhere near water they can be submerged in as they will drown. A small wading pool/dish they can climb in and out of easily is about it.

Hopefully, others with fiddler/puffer experience can provide some more input into your future setup!

So a no go on hermit crabs. But anyone know about puffers and fiddlers?
