So i just got a male betta (that I love, wish I'd gotten one sooner) and he lives alone in a 0.5 g container with some aquarium rocks. I plan on getting him a plant to hang with soon. Here are my questions:
1. Would a moss ball be ok?
2. What does it mean when he flares his fins out? I don't know if he can hear, but he seems to do this frequently when my husband talks.
3. What does it mean when he makes a bunch of bubbles?

Thank you for your input!

i wouldnt put a moss ball in it would just take up more of the already limited room. i would upgrade to at least a 3 gallon tank. hes flaring his gils because he sees his reflection.

and the bubble nest is from happiness or getting ready to breed. if the bubbles are spread out over the top, not all grouped up, it is most likely just from him breathing the surface air
