Identification help, weird egg like structure's

Hey everyone I need help identifing this, dnt know if I should remove it or let it be, the tank is freshwater 20g tall with live plants water is testing normal, I have fish, shrimp, and snails stocked and everybody seems to be acting normal, the substance it's self is located on a driftwood that is sitting around the middle of the water level in the tank it is black and Spikey and has no type of membrane around it like a snail egg, please let me know if any of you know what it is or can point me in the right direction so I can figure this out. I will keep u guys Posted on how whatever this continues to develop with photos

BBA is supposedly harmless right? I did have a problem with allot of regular hair algae before I set the lights on a timer but since then it's calmed down and there is allot of floating plants in there at the moment so the light that does get down there Is pretty filtered, I'ma leave it and take photos every day for a week to see how it develops, it doesn't seem the be hair like structure's at least not yet
