Hi I'm bunter I just got my first tank.

I'm hoping to keep discus fish

It's a 75 gallon tank and just put water in now

Don't get any discus tell its fully cycled. Someone here hopefully soon will post a link on how to cycle aquariums.

But congrats on the new tank I love my 75 gallon it's great.

Hi and welcome! Discus are beautiful fish but require some specialized care; not really the fish for beginners, IMO, so you might want to do some research. This site has some good info http://www.simplydiscus.com/

Also you'll want to read up on cycling; letting a tank run empty doesn't cycle it. Here's a guide that will help: Guide to Starting a Freshwater Aquarium - Aquarium Advice
