GoodMorning To All. I just purchased a 46 gallon bowfront, I also have a
fluval 305 to go with it. I want to setup my tank for some African Chiclids but need some advice. Defore the fish i want to set my tank up prooperly and cycle the thing. I not a total stranger to the freshwater as i had 10 gallon tank years and years ago. However i feel that the technology and care has since changed and i want to get some pointers and right advice
My 1st question is what is a acceptable base substrate for these fish? i have heard that certian reef-eviornment subsrates are too much for a fresh water tank as PH levels change? Second, What kind of Rock Decor can i use that will not harm the chiclids? Ive also heard Nothing that contians Lime Copper or Zinc? What kind of Circulation is needed for a 46G in addition to the fluval 305? a powerhead of some sort or a bubble wand? Please advise Thank You for any input -Joe
