Hi all,

I currently have a 5 week old tank, with a gravel substrate. I am planning on switching to sand substrate. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi depends if you have any fish in their or not and are you cycling the tank?
I would use a syphon tube to 'suck' out the gravel and replace the water, plus then add some very clean sand' remember to allow for displacement of the new sand so the tank doesn't overflow:)

It's been cycled, and I have a mollie with white spot disease in it now. I'm moving him to the quarantine tank soon, treating the water, and I wanted to remove some gravel (or all) and add sand.

Do you have any sand suggestions? There's a lot of options out there. I eventually want it to have guppies, platies and a pleco!
