Hey everyone!

I own a saltwater tank but just got back into freshwater. Since its the biggest tank i have, i was looking to get some kind of "big" fishs (something bigger than an inch) theres a red tail shark in there already, any suggestions on which other fish i could had?!

What about cichlids? I know they need a high ph, but i heard it can be overrated sometimes. Any way i can keep a good ph level with ONLY gravel substrate? Can they be mixed with my shark?

Thanks for your awnsers & suggestions!!!

Hi, welcome to AA!

I'm not sure about the shark and cichlids...sounds dangerous, but maybe it can be done. Hopefully some other members experienced in this area can help you out.

As long as your PH is steady it should be fine, and gravel should be fine too, in general. Whether a shark and/or cichlids need another substrate I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't help more!
