I've had a pair of common clowns for just over a year and I've never had a problem with them. Recently they have turned/turning black? Is this normal? Any help greatly appreciated!

some just do, I had one do it to me nothing you can do that I know of
The b/w clowns start orange, but are a shade darker orange. Then they turn black as they mature. The face usually is the last to turn black. Sometimes when they are being sorted as juvies, the b/w ones get mixed in the regular occ clowns.
