Hello,
I recently had a power outage and my planted 20 gallon long freshwater tank was without a running filter for about 30 hours or so. I have two bamboo shrimp, and when things got back running again I see that they are now coated in a white fluffy material that i think is fungus from what I have seen online. I also have 5 amano shrimp, about 8-10 cherry shrimp and 7 neon tetras in the tank but they seem unaffected. The tank is pretty clean and the canister filter has cleaned up the water, which is testing within normal range for Ph, Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites with an API liquid test. Every time I see my bamboo shrimp it upsets me. Is there anything I can do or should I just keep the tank maintenance up and hope that things settle on their own?
Thanks!
