broken snail--any help?

Hi,

My mystery snail decided to go sky diving...would have sworn he wouldn't fit through the gap between the heater and lid...proved me wrong. The entire front edge of his shell (it was all new growth since I've had him) broke off. He seems unfazed by the event but it's a big piece that's missing. (Probably about 3/8 of an inch wide) I added extra calcium to the tank (I have low kH at baseline). What else can/should I do? He's a blue one and I was reading on rainbowsnails that they tend to be more fragile anyway...

Not good. I had the same thing happen and it didn't take long before he went on to bigger and better things.

I suggest you keep a good eye on him, mine went during the night.

If it's just a chip on the edge it'll be fine, but if there's snaily flesh exposed by the damage, then www.applesnail.net has an extensive "sticky" on shell repair!
