Effect of ick medication?

Does ick medication ruin the good bacteria in your tank???it doesn't say anything about this on the bottle but alot of people have been telling me it does.(I'm using protozin)
Once the treatment is done do you have to do anything to remove the medicine or do u just leave it as normal?I've heard u should put carbon in ur filter to get rid of the medicine???
Also in regards to water changes, what should you do during and after the treatment???

No response? I am wondering the same thing for my own knowledge as with my luck I will have ick sometime soon!

I have hear that it will probably wipe out the BB in the system. I would do a PWC then dose meds. And I think removal of charcoal during treatment is what you are supposed to do. Putting it back in after everything is done seems like it would help remove, but that one I will leave for someone else to clarify.
