I have a serpai tetra that looks like it may have fin rot or maybe ich??

The group is a fin nipping bunch and some of the serpai's have fins missing, BUT this is a little different..

It starts on the back fin and is working its way up. It is kind of whitish/transparent. The fish still seems fine swimming with the group, running when chased. He is one of the newer batch of serpai I have recently gotten, no problems till now. It has been 2 weeks and last week I added a male ram. He had pretty nipped at fins but seems healthy and happy.

Any clues on what it is? No other fish really has the white showing. Am I being paranoid? Wish I could provide a picture and maybe I will figure out how to post one from my phone.

Thanks
Drew

Sounds like either fin rot or nipping. You can try just keeping the water SUPER clean, and it should heal up. Is it fluffy white? If so, it could have fungus, as a second to the rot/nip, and you can use Melafix/Pimafix for that.
Ich looks like salt sprinkles on the fish.
