So I bought this branch of "Eyeball Wood" from my LFS, after the initial film of the algae bloom it started to develop these white spots and has been growing more steadily for the past 3-4 weeks all along the branch. Is this anything to worry about, any known funguses like this that are harmful to the aquariums health?

No I am not sure which wood it is, but you can scrub it off, or get a Mystery snail to eat that up, or if the tank is stable you can get some Amano shrimp which would pic away at that. It might cloud the tank some if you brush it off while it is INside the tank but outside just wipe off. See if it comes right back.

If so you can wipe it with household hydrogen peroxide, leave it for about 15 min. then rinse off and put back.
