I have 5 cardinal tetras. I noticed that 2 of them had a white spot on the top of their head. The spot was in the same place on both fish, and was so symmetrically located I justed assumed it was part of their anatomy. It was a bout the size of their eyes. Well, less then a week later and I just notice that none of them have a spot anymore.

What could it have been?

I've only owned them for 2 weeks, so maybe it was an injury from the store that healed.

0 ammonia, and they saw a max of 0.4 ppm nitrites as I had a mini cycle. Nitrites are 0 now.

From the descriptions I have read of ich, I don't think that was it. Size and specific location on both fish also sort of eliminates that.

Try searching this site and see if you can find anything about the spots. They are good with diagnosing fish diseases.
