How can I identify sand or crushed coral

I purchased a 40 gallon aquarium to use as a QT and it came with 2 bags of something. All that is on the bag is as-1. The guy I bought it from said it is crushed coral. I am wondering if it is aragonite sand. It is sugar sized and I did the vinegar test and it foamed. Any ideas?

If its for a QT tank then I would go with a bare bottom.... Just put in some PVC fittings so the fish have some place to hide.....

OOOPS sorry. I will not put the substrate in the QT. I just need sand for my 225 and was wondering if what I have is sand.
